This piece is about taking something that normally represents fear, violence, and danger and completely changing the way you experience it. I wanted the guns to almost become beautiful covered in bright colors, paint, and light while still making you stop and think about what they represent.

When the piece comes alive under UV light, it changes completely. Something dark becomes illuminated. Something threatening becomes art.

For me, it really comes down to one question: When we feel threatened, what do we turn to for protection?
