A few years ago, I traveled to Aruba and visited Flamingo Island, where I completely fell in love with the flamingos roaming freely around me. There was something about them their beauty, elegance, and effortless grace that stayed with me long after I left.

As my Fragmented Woman series continues to evolve, I wanted to bring that memory and inspiration into this piece. The woman and flamingo become one both embodying a sense of elegance, beauty, and effortless grace. Her fragmented form reflects the many layers we carry as women: our experiences, imperfections, strength, softness, and resilience. Each fragment tells a different part of our story, coming together to create something beautifully whole.

This piece feels especially personal because it brings together a memory that inspired me years ago with a series that represents so much of who I am as an artist today. And, like much of my pieces, she reveals another side of herself after dark glowing beneath UV light.
